Pulse complete first stage options report for iconic Iona Community Mac Centre Development
Pulse has completed an Option Study report as the first step in reimagining the future of a former residential home for families, children, and people with disabilities on the remote Scottish island of Iona. Over many years the building has deteriorated and uses changed, and Pulse was asked to explore the viability of a range of new potential uses for the Mac.
Following a long list of 16 potential use options, the report recommends the development of new residential uses, including potential staff accommodation for the Iona Community and affordable housing, and development of a Social Enterprise Services Hub, including a potential island laundry and island bakery.
Pulse is now supporting the Iona Community with the next stage Feasibility Study, including partnership development and funding to take the project forward.
