Pulse Regeneration Ltd was formed in Liverpool in 2001 by Managing Director Chris Hart, a successful social entrepreneur, Community Development Trust Chief Executive, and regeneration practitioner. Chris has a long-held vision of helping to improve people’s quality of life through the development of sustainable VCFSE sector organisations and communities.

This vision is as strong now as it has ever been for Pulse. We are committed to developing quality, fit for purpose, financially self sustaining, and high impact VCFSE sector organisations. We believe in social action and in harnessing local assets within our communities to help improve health and wellbeing. 

The VCFSE sector is an important partner for the public sector. The VCFSE sector is close to the communities they serve, understands their needs and aspirations, and is able to unlock local resources, assets, funding and help from volunteers. It brings specialist expertise to public service delivery and is particularly well placed to support those with complex and multiple needs. It often provides better value for money due to its focus on early action, preventative services, and through wider social value. Working in partnership with the VCFSE sector can lead to reduced demand for public services and ease pressure on health and social care systems.

The VCFSE sector is also an important partner for the private sector, enabling business and industry to engage with communities in which they work, support their developments, get closer to their customers, and assist the welfare of their workforce. The VCFSE sector can be a great partner to enable businesses to achieve their social value goals and CSR commitments.
