Case Studies

Strategic Business Plan
Pulse has supported Crossroads Together for many years with a range of consultancy assignments. This included a new 5-year Strategic Business Plan for the charity. A number of development sessions were held with the CEO and nominated Trustees to agree a new mission and aims. Work was then undertaken on growth areas and resource requirements. The business plan included a Year 1 Strategy Action Plan and a 3 Year Cash Flow Forecast.

Business and Financial Plan
Pulse developed a Business Plan for the Borrowdale Institute for the development of the Institute building in support of a potential social investment application to Livv Investment. The Borrowdale Institute is located in The Lake District National Park and was no longer fit for purpose, with a mission to renovate the building and strengthen its role as a cornerstone in the local community. Pulse worked closely with the Institute to develop a new vision and aims and build on community engagement work undertaken and plans for refurbishment. Our process included assessing proposed activities and service, detailed research to evidence market demand, identifying operational and resource requirements, and developing a marketing strategy, social impact, income and expenditure projections. The business plan culminated in identifying an investment requirement and offer of social investment from Livv.

Business Development Plan
Pulse has supported the National Flood Forum to develop a new Business Plan focused on expanding its online directory called Blue Pages and delivery of its training, workshops and conferences for Flood Action Groups and partners. Our support has included a market assessment and review of the existing products, SWOT and PESTLE, and competitor analysis, development of a new business model, operational and resource requirements, risk assessment, and undertaking detailed financial forecasts. The plan will now be used to help secure investment for the recruitment of a new Marketing Manager position.
